If you have been an avid fan of Bitcoin poker, you already know that the market saturation is running at an all-time high. A large number of new and flashy Bitcoin poker sites are popping up daily, making it somewhat difficult to easily find the best poker sites for your liking.

Merging poker with blockchain technology has already proved to be a massive success, offering a variety of benefits specific to crypto poker. Although traditional poker is not going away, Bitcoin poker has already been established as the most exciting addition to the game.

If you are on the hunt for the best bitcoin poker sites, this article is for you. You could also check out Coin Poker. We will be diving into the basics of Bitcoin poker, the benefits of playing it, and tips and tricks on finding the best poker sites out there in 2023. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

Best Bitcoin Poker Sites in 2023

While there are endless poker sites to choose from luring you in with flashy offers, you should be careful when making this choice. Picking a good, trusted, and reliable Bitcoin poker site is important, although the choice is ultimately a personal preference.

CoinPoker

A widely trusted and reliable site, CoinPoker is one of the best legit cryptocurrency casinos out there right now. Bear in mind that it has an RGN decentralized system, confirming that you are getting a fair-game experience every single time that you decide to play here.

An important reason why many people opt for CoinPoker is the fact that it is incredibly easy to access, has many community promos, and an astonishing fast payment processing. In addition, it offers blockchain-based safety to all of its players.

Coinzino Casino

A new addition to the highly-sought poker sites, Coinzino has already amassed a great number of fans. It offers games such as blackjack, roulette, poker, slots, and many more. All in all, it is a new Bitcoin casino that offers more than 3,000 games to choose from.

This page offers a chance to win a 100% welcome bonus following your first deposit, and 10% on the losses you have while playing. It also has a great live game selection. If you are stationed in the U.S., keep in mind that you can’t play here unless you get yourself a VPN.

Lucky Block Casino

This particular online casino will have you enjoying a variety of games, such as Indian Poker, Oasis Poker Classic, Poker Lobby, and several others. This website is suitable for all types of players and skill levels, including amateur and professional players, part–time and VIPs.

Another interesting thing about it is the fact that the experience almost feels as if you are sitting in a real casino, with great graphics that the site offers. Registration is also very easy, as it is easy with CoinPoker. Keep in mind that it, however, does not have live poker.

Reasons to Play Bitcoin Poker

If you think about it, online poker is not an entirely new thing. For example, online poker variants such as the popular Texas Hold’em have been around for years. However, crypto poker is an entirely new and exciting experience for professionals and casual players alike.

Financial Autonomy

As a whole, this take on poker is interesting for several reasons, the first of which would be the fact that it relies on the use of cryptocurrencies instead of fiat currencies, such as dollars. In essence, you deposit, play with, and withdraw your finances through Bitcoin. This means that you avoid the usual hassle you have with your bank due to playing.

Convenience and Availability

The second most obvious difference between Bitcoin and traditional poker is that there is no usual hassle of getting up, driving to a casino, and everyone seeing your face as you play. Bitcoin poker is always available and easily accessible, regardless of where you are.

Anonymity

If you have still not mastered a good technique for your poker face, which is one of the more important elements in finding poker success, you will be relieved that a good poker face plays no factor in Bitcoin poker. You do not show your face online, so it doesn’t concern you.

Data Protection

Your data, due to the implementation of blockchain technology, is safer than it has ever been before and you are less susceptible to issues such as bank meddling and any type of fraud and data theft. Unlike traditional poker, your transactions are extremely fast and fully digital.

Low Fees and High Winnings

Another benefit of playing Bitcoin poker is that the fees are generally lower than those charged by traditional poker sites. This means that players can keep more of their winnings and can also enter tournaments with lower entry fees, giving them the opportunity to win bigger payouts.

Moreover, Bitcoin poker rooms often offer higher bonuses and rewards to their players due to the lower overhead costs associated with using cryptocurrency. These bonuses can range from deposit bonuses to freerolls and can significantly boost a player’s bankroll.

Provably Fair Gaming

One of the most significant advantages of Bitcoin poker is the concept of provably fair gaming. This concept ensures that the results of every game are entirely random and cannot be tampered with by either the player or the operator.

Provably fair gaming is achieved through the use of cryptographic algorithms, which allow players to verify the fairness of each hand or game played. This level of transparency and fairness is not present in traditional poker games, making Bitcoin poker a more trustworthy and reliable option.

Conclusion

In summary, Bitcoin poker offers several benefits over traditional poker games, including financial autonomy, convenience and availability, anonymity, data protection, low fees and high winnings, and provably fair gaming. These factors make Bitcoin poker an attractive option for both casual and professional players who are looking for a more innovative and secure way to play poker online.

Poker is a game of skills and evaluating poker hands is a vital skill one needs. This sets professionals apart from amateurs and can make all the difference between winning and losing a hand. A strong hand may quickly turn into a losing one if not properly evaluated.

Unfortunately, many players make common errors when assessing their hands, leading to poor decision-making and ultimately losing money at the poker table. Here, we will identify some common mistakes to avoid when evaluating poker hands.

By understanding these mistakes and learning how to prevent them, you can improve your hand evaluation skills and boost your winning odds at the table.

Neglecting to Consider Position

Position is one of the most critical factors when assessing poker hands. Your position at the table affects both your hands’ strength and the range of hands you should play. Being early at the table means acting before most other players, which puts you at a disadvantage; conversely, being late gives you an advantage since most other players must act after you.

When adjusting your hand evaluation based on position, be more cautious when playing hands in an early position and more aggressive when playing them in a late position. For instance, you might fold a hand like 8-7 when in early position but raise with it when in late. It is important to always consider your position before making a decision.

Undervaluing Selected Cards

Players often mistakenly assume that suited cards are automatically strong, when in reality they are not always worth playing. Indeed, some of the worst starting hands in poker are composed of suited cards.

To avoid this, evaluate your suited cards based on their rank and position. A hand like Q-7 may seem weak at first glance, especially if you are playing early position; however, A-K suited is much stronger and should be played more aggressively. Ultimately, don’t just evaluate cards by their suit – evaluate them based on their true strength.

Importance of Correct Poker Hand Rankings in Evaluating Hands

Knowing the hierarchy of poker hand rankings is essential when assessing poker hands. Knowing which hands rank higher than others allows you to make more informed decisions about whether to continue playing or fold. For example, a pair of Aces is considered a strong hand that ranks higher than two pairs of Kings or Queens; similarly, having a flush beats out on straight but is lower than having a full house.

By understanding poker hand rankings and considering them alongside other common mistakes to avoid when evaluating poker hands, you can improve your overall strategy and boost your odds of success at the table.

Playing Hands that Can be Easily Dominated

A hand is considered dominated when another player has the same combination of cards with a higher kicker card than yours (i.e., A-9 versus A-K), the latter’s kicker being higher than yours. Playing dominated hands can prove costly as you are likely to lose to the person with the superior kicker.

To avoid playing dominated hands, you should be aware of those likely to dominate yours. For instance, hands like A-J, Q, and K all tend to dominate a hand like A-9. Conversely, if you have a weaker hand and are faced with betting from someone with more potency, then it may be best to fold and wait for another opportunity. Not all hands are worth playing, so be selective when selecting which ones, you choose to wager on.

Neglecting to Consider the Actions of Other Players

Other players’ moves can provide useful insight when assessing your hand strength. For instance, if someone has raised their hand, it is more likely they have a stronger hand than someone who is only calling. Likewise, if several players have folded, there is more likelihood that those left standing have stronger hands than if no action had been taken yet.

When adjusting your hand evaluation based on other players’ actions, it is essential to pay attention both to the size of bets and number of participants in the pot. If several people have already called a bet, it may not be worth calling with a weak hand; conversely, if only one player remains and they are betting aggressively, this could indicate they may be bluffing and it would be beneficial to call or raise accordingly.

Undervaluing High Cards

High cards such as Aces and Kings may seem like strong starting hands and good for entertainment, but they are not always what they seem. In fact, high cards without any matching cards may actually be weaker than low pairs or suited connectors.

To avoid overvaluing high cards, evaluate your hand based on its strength and position. High cards become more valuable in late position when you have more insight into other players’ hands. In early positions, however, folding high cards may be wise if there has been a lot of activity before you.

Neglecting to Recognize the Potential of Drawing Hands

Drawing hands like flush draws or straight draws can be extremely powerful if played correctly. They may not be strong enough to win outright, but they have the potential to make a very strong hand if the right card comes on the turn or river.

When assessing drawing hands, you must take into account your outs (cards that could improve your hand), the pot odds (the ratio of the size of the pot to your bet size), and other players’ actions. Drawing hands is best played when the odds are favorable and you have a good chance of making the hand you are drawing for.

Playing Hands Based on Emotion Rather Than Logic

Emotions can cloud your judgment when assessing hands in a game of poker, leading you to make irrational decisions. This is more likely to happen if you are under the influence of alcohol. The mistake can also be made by a player when he/she is winning or losing continuously.

For instance, you may continue playing a hand even though the odds are stacked against you simply because you have invested a significant amount of chips already. To avoid this mistake, you should have proper bankroll management and set limits. Try not to cross these limits in any case.

When it comes to playing poker, players can adopt two main strategies – aggressive and passive. Aggressive poker is about betting and raising, while passive poker focuses on checking and calling.

Aggressive poker is the way to go if you want to win big. That’s because aggressive moves pressure your opponents and force them to make mistakes. Here are some tips on how to play poker using aggressive plays:

Bet early and often

Being aggressive means betting early and often throughout the game rather than playing passively and waiting for others to make their moves. By being proactive and taking the initiative, you can put your opponents on the defensive and improve your game.

Of course, this requires a certain amount of skill and intuition to identify the correct times to bet and when to hold back. But if you can consistently apply an aggressive approach, you will be well-positioned to succeed at the table.

Raise the stakes

Raising the poker stakes can be a powerful way to gain an edge over your opponents. Higher stakes create a greater incentive for players to play aggressively, resulting in more aggressive betting and raising in each hand.

It can help you to build a strong position at the table, putting pressure on your opponents and increasing the likelihood that they will make mistakes. When you raise the stakes, you’ll also need to bring your best game to the table, as any missteps can have much more significant consequences in higher-stakes play.

Whether you’re playing online poker or at your local casino, it’s essential to learn how to play poker and keep your strategy attuned to the current stakes of a hand to come out on top.

Go all in

Going all in can be an effective strategy for success. By placing all your chips on the table at once, you signal to your opponents that you are extremely aggressive and determined to win.

It can intimidate them into making risky decisions or folding when they are holding a strong hand, giving you a better chance of coming out on top. Additionally, betting everything at once eliminates the risk of suffering losses below your original buy-in amount, which can prevent you from walking away from the game feeling defeated.

Though it may seem like a high-risk tactic, going all in is often necessary if you want to come out victorious in a heated game of poker.

Bluff with confidence

Confidence is an essential factor in poker, and bluffing is one of the best ways to demonstrate this confidence. By acting aggressively and taking calculated risks, you can put fear into your opponents’ minds and send them scrambling to make quick decisions.

Not only does this improve your game with any given hand, but it also demonstrates that you are not afraid to take risks and go all-in when necessary. Whether you are just starting or are an experienced player, learning how to bluff with confidence is a crucial strategy for success in poker.

Intimidate your opponents

Knowing how to play poker online or at a casino cannot be easy. Some players try to intimidate their opponents by being aggressive, while others prefer a more reserved and strategic approach.

Whether you play aggressively or not is a matter of personal preference and strategy, but specific tried-and-tested tactics can help you have the upper hand in any game.

For example, one effective way to gain the upper hand is to study your opponents carefully and learn their tendencies. By figuring out who tends to bluff and fold quickly, you can better strategize your moves and predict when they might make risky decisions.

Knowledge of basic poker terminology, using Texas Hold em cheat sheet, and learning strategies will give you an edge over less experienced players who may not know some of these things.

Play your cards close to your chest

You must play cards close to your chest to win big in a poker game. Keeping your strategy and tactics hidden from the other players will force them to take risks and make rash decisions, giving you a strong advantage over the table.

Moreover, if you keep your cards close to your chest, you will be able to react quickly and adjust your strategy as needed. For example, if an opponent makes a big bet on the flop but suddenly starts making conservative moves after the turn card has been dealt, you can capitalize on their cautiousness by going all in.

Take calculated risks

Playing aggressively in poker requires a certain level of risk-taking. To play aggressively, you need to be willing to take calculated risks and make bold plays to win big.

It requires being able to read your opponents and understand their strategies, as well as being able to assess the strength of your hand. In addition, you need to have the mental wherewithal to stay focused and keep cool under pressure, even if things don’t go in your favor immediately.

With these skills, you can play aggressively and come out on top in any poker game. Your willingness to take risks will help give you the edge over your opponents and lead you down the path toward victory.

Conclusion

Poker is a game of strategy and calculated risks. By understanding the stakes of a hand and playing your cards close to your chest, you can give yourself a decisive advantage over the other players. Though it may seem like a high-risk tactic, going all in is often necessary if you want to come out victorious in a heated game of poker.

So, next time you sit at a poker table, remember these tips and show your opponents that you mean business.

As anyone who has ever played poker knows, there is no one size fits all answer to becoming a great player. Different strategies work in different parts of the world, and what works in a casino environment might not be as effective online. However, some players have proven themselves to be consistent winners no matter where they play. Here are some of the biggest poker stars across the globe and what makes them so successful.

Who are the most prominent poker winners in the world, and how much money have they won in 2022?

In poker, as in life, the cream always rises to the top. No matter where they play or what stakes they’re playing for, the best players always find a way to come out on top. Here are the biggest winners in poker over the past year, both in terms of tournament results and cash game earnings.

Dan Smith

No list of poker’s most prominent winners would be complete without Dan Smith. The American pro has had an incredible run over the past few years, racking up more than $32 million in live tournament earnings. Smith’s biggest score came in 2018 when he won the $10 million first-place prize at the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event. He also has three runner-up finishes at WSOP events, including a second-place finish in the $5 million buy-in Big 1 for 1 Drop tournament in 2014.

Justin Bonomo

Like Smith, Justin Bonomo is an American pro who has had tremendous success in the tournament and cash games. Bonomo’s live tournament earnings stand at just over $33 million, with his biggest score coming from a first-place finish in the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl China. He also has an impressive 11 WSOP final table finishes, including two runner-up finishes. In addition to his tournament success, Bonomo is a highly regarded cash game player and has won millions online and live.

Fedor Holz

Fedor Holz is a German pro who has had an incredible run over the past few years. He currently has more than $32 million in live tournament earnings, with his biggest score coming from a first-place finish in the 2016 Super High Roller Bowl. He also has five WSOP final table finishes, including a second-place finish in the $5 million buy-in Big 1 for 1 Drop tournament in 2014. Bryn Kenney

Bryn Kenney is an American pro who has had tremendous success in the tournament and cash games. Kenney currently has more than $32 million in live tournament earnings, with his biggest score coming from a first-place finish in the 2019 Triton Million for Charity. He also has nine impressive WSOP final table finishes, including two runner-up finishes. In addition to his tournament success, Kenney is also a highly regarded cash game player, and he has won millions playing online and live.

Erik Seidel

Erik Seidel is an American pro and one of the world’s most successful and respected players. Seidel currently has more than $34 million in live tournament earnings, with his biggest score coming from a first-place finish in the 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event. He also has seven WSOP final table finishes, including two runner-up finishes. In addition to his tournament success, Seidel is also a highly regarded cash game player, and he has won millions playing online and live.

These are some of the biggest winners in poker across the globe. What sets them apart from the rest is their ability to win consistently, no matter where they play or what stakes they’re playing for.

What makes these players successful, and what can we learn from them?

The players on this list have a few things in common that have helped them become the biggest winners in poker. First, they all have tremendous success in the tournament and cash games, which shows they are well-rounded players who can win in any game format. Second, they are all highly regarded cash game players, which means they know how to make capital in the long run, even when the short-term results may not be as favourable.

Finally, they all can win consistently, no matter where they play or what stakes they’re playing for. It is a crucial trait of successful poker players, showing they can adapt to any situation and still come out on top.

What are the most popular poker variants, and how do they differ?

There are a variety of poker variants that are played across the globe, and each one has its own unique set of rules. A very popular variant is Texas Hold’em, which is the game that is typically played in tournaments and cash games. Other popular variants include Omaha, Stud, and Draw poker.

Each variant has its own specific rules, but the basic premise is still the same – to make the best hand possible and win the pot. The main difference between each variant is how the cards are dealt with and how the betting rounds progress. For example, in Texas Hold’em, each player is dealt two hole cards with four betting rounds (pre-flop, flop, turn, and river).

Short deck poker is a newer variant that has recently gained popularity. Short deck poker (check it out on Natural8)  is played with cards stripped down to 36 (6-A), which means fewer outs are available, making the game more action-packed and exciting. Poker is a game that players of all skill levels can enjoy, and there is a variant out there for everyone.

Poker has been around for numerous years, and we are all familiar with the name. Some play free slots online without downloading after work, and some sit at the virtual poker table. Likewise, cybersport is a name we might have heard of but are unsure what it entails. Briefly, cybersport includes computer games where two or more teams compete against each other on various video game platforms. In cybersport, you can compete in a team of 2 or more or choose to play individually. Many players end up turning their hobby into a career. Players who are good at the game can earn decent money from the prize funds. In addition, some top players become celebrities and also make extra money by doing endorsements and advertising royalties.

Online Poker is played the same as if you were to play in a land-based venue. However, online Poker makes it much easier for players to participate in poker tournaments from home. Online casinos also offer poker games around-the-clock, which is perfect for different time zones.

Essentially, as poker also can be played online, it is a cybersport discipline. The question gets asked: is it luck or skill to be a successful poker cybersportsman? The response is straightforward: skill. It is a game of skill since it is talent—not luck—that enables players to profit from the game over many months and years.

Top Online Poker Players

So, let us take a look at some of the top online poker players who have successfully carved a career and made a lot of cash while playing online poker.

Joao Vieira

In addition, he has had much success in live tournaments, including winning a bracelet in the $5,000 six-max event at the 2019 World Series of Poker. Still, Joao is better renowned for his success on the internet. Vieira is still considered one of the most successful online players.

The 32-year-old Portuguese poker pro also added a big live victory to his massive seven-figure triumph in a $50,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em high roller at the 2022 WSOP, establishing his position as a significant danger in both disciplines. In addition, Vieira has cashed in over $23 million at online tournaments making his net worth pretty impressive.

Ben Tollerene

Tollerene is an American professional poker player born in 1986. He plays live tournaments and high-stakes online games, winning over $2,600,000 as of 2017. According to Tollerene, he lost $1.7 million to Viktor Blom in a single evening before recovering it all the following day.

Bertrand Grospellier

Bertrand Grospellier was born in France in 1981 and currently lives in Prague. He is also known as ElkY on the poker circuits. He was a big player in esports, including Warcraft III and StarCraft: Brood war. He turned his hand to professional poker in 2015 and quickly made a name for himself on the circuit. Only nine players have managed to achieve the triple crown award. He has managed to cash out over $14.5 million during his online poker career.

Sami Kelopuro

Playing games of one form or another for entertainment purposes has been a part of human culture since the first societies were formed. Our basic needs like food, shelter, and companionship were taken care of first, then the minds of the earliest humans turned towards how to occupy the time they had left in an interesting way. The first traces of games played by humans were found in Europe and dated back to the Bronze Age. Since then, people have played games on boards, in the dirt, with balls and goals. Games were divided into two categories early on: games of skill and games of chance. Games of skill required the players to practice their moves or mental strategies, while games of chance left the results entirely up to luck. We see these same differences today in each different poker variant (skill with a little luck) and games like Roulette (completely luck).

Let’s take a look at all the differences between games of skill and chance, how each is approached, and a few examples of each kind of game.

Skill

A game of skill is one that relies on the player’s mental or physical level of expertise instead of wherever the ball or game piece may happen to land. Skilled players far more easily control a game of skill as they understand what action will be followed by what reaction. Players are able to explore their capabilities, test their skills, and learn new skills to improve their chances of winning. The better an understanding of the game all the players have, the better grasp of the intricacies of the rules, and the better they can use them to their own advantage and hone their skills in accordance. Players must strategize to get a leg up over their competition; this means forward thinking and lots of planning ahead, taking into account all the possible plays that opponents could make. Games of skill require players or participants to spend a long time perfecting their skills; athletes, chess players, and esports players alike.

Chance

Here, you best hope that lady luck is on your side! Games of chance cannot be controlled by any skill that you might possess. A game of chance relies solely on luck or happenstance for its results. Think of Roulette as a good example. No amount of hope or wishing will alter the course that weight and gravity set for the ball to take. As the old saying goes, you could load the ball or the dice, but cheaters never prosper. The only way to predict the outcome of a game of chance is to work with probability theory or to rig the game and cheat to get the outcome you want. Chance could be altered by the wind speed, the amount of drag you produce (though these can be offset by skill), how hard dice are thrown, the order that a pack of cards is shuffled, or the day of the week.

Games of Skill and Chance

Some games have elements of both skill and chance. Take poker, for example. You cannot control the cards you are dealt; that is purely chance. Your skill and mental acuity must be harnessed to make the most of those cards, to use them in a way that will most likely lead you to a win. Most games are like this, even sports. For example, in football or soccer, the start of the game is influenced by chance; the coin flip determines which team will begin. After that, it is up to the players and their skills to take control of the game. One could argue that every game in existence is a game of both skill and chance because there are so many factors that human beings can’t control. Many of these factors influence games of skill in such a small way that we mitigate and offset them and call it a day.

Examples

Games of Skill:

  • Chess
  • Darts
  • Esports
  • Athletics
